Have you ever thought – I am too old to adopt?

If you have, you are not alone. As a blogger and mom of 3 kids through birth and adoption, Jill Robbins talks about her adoption story, why adoption baby showers are important and what it’s like to be the oldest mom with the youngest kid…which according to her is 99.99% of the time..

“My biggest lesson learned through the rough patches was not to bottle things up…which is pretty much my super power.”
–Blogger & Mom of 3, Jill Robbins

Jill has a biological daughter and two boys adopted from China in 2012 and 2013 at the ages of two and three – but born only four months apart. She started her blog in 2014 to share stories of adoption and the general state of chaos called parenting.

One of her adoption blog posts that I love is called:
WHY YOU SHOULD GIVE AN ADOPTIVE MOM A BABY SHOWER (OR AN ADOPTION SHOWER)

Listen as Jill shares about her depression after adopting her boys and feeling left out as other people around her were having baby showers for women having babies – but not for her new family.

She also share her experiences with raising two boys from China – and the 7 things she and her husband learned about adoption during the first month home.

Here’s what you’ll hear:

  • Jill’s adoption story of adopting her 2 boys from China.
  • The story about baby showers and what happened to Jill right after they brought their first son home from China – and then again only a month after they brought home their second son.
  • How Jill struggled with depression after their second adoption in 2013 and how writing and sharing her thoughts and feelings about that was a kind of lifeline for her.
  • Jill’s biggest challenges and struggles with being the oldest mom with the youngest kids.
  • 7 things she and her husband learned about adoption during the first month home.
